Yoga Lessons with an Experienced Yoga Teacher
Professional Certificate, Yoga
What is a session with you like?
What makes you love this?
Teaching yoga and meditation never gets old, because it is the gift that keeps on giving. It brings health and wellness into your life and takes you ever deeper into yourself. Holding space for and guiding students through their own yoga journey is a reward in itself, as I witness the undeniable benefits - the students' growth and transformation, and overwhelmingly positive responses.
What are you working on now?
What's the neatest thing you've done in this field?
Having trained with an authentic yoga master, Yogi Ashokananda, in London, UK and India, I have learned (and am still learning!) the full range of yogic practices - besides just asana (postural) practice. Beyond trainings in Himalayan Hatha Yoga, Prana Kriya Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation, my practice also includes yoga nidra, mantra and chanting, and other cleansing and subtle body exercises. Having a grasp of the broader yoga practice and energetic flows behind it allows me to better assess the needs of the student and tailor classes and teachings in an accessible way that is optimal to their health and wellness needs.
What's the coolest thing you helped a client do?
I particularly enjoy teaching one-on-one because it allows for more individual attention and tailored instruction, and thus, more effective results. Working as a traveling teacher, I spent 2+ years of continuous travel, training, and teaching in South and Southeast Asia, in ashrams, resorts and retreat centers, studios, and homes. This provided a depth of experience in teaching the practices in different settings to a wide variety of students, some over a long period of time. I have recently re-settled in Brooklyn and am excited to ground myself in the yoga and meditation communities here and share the wealth of knowledge and experience I've gained.
