Guitar Lessons- International Touring & Recording Artist
- Love Beginners!
- Full of secrets about music...
- I am FUN.
What is a session with you like?
As I said I love beginners so I never tire of teaching core rudiments of guitar playing. If you want to be able to play a song all the way through after a few lessons I can get you there. Otherwise, I will discover with you the areas where you have information gaps holding you back from being a melodic lead player, getting a better tone, vocal phrasing and rhythm, adding extended chords to your library to give your songs more color and endless discussion about song composition.
What makes you love this?
I love transferring magnetism onto a piece of tape and pressing it into vinyl. I really enjoy doing the same thing for a live audience, so it follows suit that I would enjoy transferring the ability to share your own magnetism with others. Playing music makes you feel good and if you are feeling good other people around you can dig it.
What are you working on now?
New Last Dancers album, Film/TV placements, Live Performances, Pressing Vinyl Singles and distilling modal concepts into my lead playing to get more out of single notes.
What's the neatest thing you've done in this field?
So many little victories...but either performing Diamond Dogs with Bowie's guitar player (Earl Slick) or having one of my songs performed to a sold out theater of 3,000 in Portland at the Schnitz by Pink Martini, Storm and full orchestra. Most modern songwriters never live to see that...
What's the coolest thing you helped a client do?
I once had a 54 year old client who owned a company and wanted to learn Cigar Box guitar. 2 years into lessons he thanked me for helping him get over his anxiety of speaking to big crowds and that it had enriched him and added value to his ability to present at conferences in a way he had no idea it ever could.
